Final Reflection

In making this web series we have learnt unlike Tv series. We have to pick a target audience and have to be able to attract that audience or the show will fail. The only way to get people attention of the web series is through adverts and links through sites. If you don't make sure this adverts or link are not on the right sight to get the attention of your target audience then it is very hard to get views if the people who see it do come under the target audience and don't like it because its not there thing.

Our show is distributed on Vemio and Youtube but we have link to them through facebook and Twitter. this allows people to view the show when ever the wish all they do if the come our facebook or twitter page is just to follow the link to the videos or watch them there on the facebook page. This is different from shows like Red vs Blue which they have there own website that a lot of people view it on or go on there official youtube site which link to it are everywhere as soon as you type the show in a search engine like google or Yahoo. With our audience we had a challenge of finding an easy and effective way of getting to out target audience. We used Social Networking sites to post information out as our target age group majority of them use some kind of Social Networking site and Facebook we feel is one of the most popular sites and we can paternally get a lot of fans from this site.

After screening the 1st episode we got many hits not as much as others shows but we had some kind of small following. we got the odd comment most of them people enjoyed them but some people did have some concerns and constructive criticism. Like less swearing or just asking for more of a storyline. these comments reflected in the second episode. Unlike TV producers don't always hear all the criticism like web show do as most web show have forums under the show for people to talk about what they liked and disliked. this in a web show shows what people want and this mean getting more of a fan base if more people like one thing and others don't like another things can change so more people are happy with it.

In conclusion audiences in showing creative work is the core of what makes things good because if you have no audience can people say it is good or original if no one can see it. As well people have freedom of speech and they can either say they like your product or they can just as easily give harsh criticism it if they don’t like it and everyone can see there comment and that one comment can effect what people think before watching it if they see people say bad thing about the person about to watch it might think twice if other people say it bad as well as if people say its good a person might get the feeling its really good and be disappointed in the end

thought of the Focus Group

the focus group thought the series was good and that it was quite funny. but they still had a lot of negative but constructive criticism. They felt that Episode 2 was the best out of the three as it had a storyline and all the characters were distinguished. they felt that episode 1 was to long and episode 3 was to short. the enjoyed the acting but felt some people could of done more in the episode so you got a better understanding of the characters.

This was all good and criticism and alot of it was criticism was had noticed our self but getting it from a non byist point of view has shown what we had done good and what we had not done not so good even if we thought otherwise

Focus Group Write up

This is a write up of what the focus group said to our questions

-what are you initial thoughts and feelings of the webseries?

it was comedy. and it was one of those things that you could watch again because its not bad bad, but its kind of bad good. like it knows its bad but it makes it good. like with the editing and stuff.

they developed, the characters, as it went on. i thought the 2nd episode was better than the 1st. and the 3rd one. there was a lot more comedy, and action to it.

i think the girl should have been in it more because she was just there and she didn't really do anything.

i think the first one focused more on development of the characters. just introducing them seperately and then the 2nd one had a story base. then the third one is just kind of random. it was just trippy and getting high for no apparant reason. until the end.

- what do you think of the characters and their interactions?

josh's character, it might have been the shot type, but it just felt like he had been pasted in there.

- the idea was that the characters in each episode didn't really notice he was there because he was kind of in the back of the room.

i really liked keiths character. but the characters, i didn't really like the girls character but thats because she didn't really do much. but my favourite characters keith. and i liked sonny, and pier. there probably joint 2nd.

you had a range of characters, and they weren't the same or anything which was good.

and they were really different which was good.

- do you prefer the first second or third episode and why is that?

the second one because it didn't have all the hassle of the first one. the third one was just abit confusing.

- do you think it worked though

i think the effect was to confuse the audience which worked but it was just abit weird. and random. in terms of storyline

- so did you prefer the 2nd one?

i prefered the 2nd one but i got what was happening in the 3rd one.

i prefered the 2nd one. i think the thrid one was too short

- was the episode structure for the 2nd and third episodes better than the 1st?

it flowed better than the first one

- what do you think of the fan page on facebook?

i havent seen a lot of it so far but from what i have seen i think it's good. i like the idea of posting things from the characters perspectives.

- gives you more of an insight into the characters

i like the fan page, its quite simple but effective. it does keep it interesting, like you said about the characters posting things. just keeps the background story going for the webseries.

- the target audience was people our age. 16-21. do you think facebook is a good place for a fan page?

yea definatly.

- do you all have facebook?

yes

- what do you think could be improved for the next episode if we made one?

development of the second.

i think you should cut out the swearing because it just like a beep a minute. i know it was just in the first one but it was just like beep after beep.

i'd quite like the same setting as the second one. different storyline, different character.

maybe have 1 or 2 main characters and then rotate the other characters around. so you get to see the old characters, like the audience favourites, and then you get to see their new reactions with the new characters.

- what are the good and bad points of the episodes? lets start with the first one

it was too long, and too much swearing. good points was that it managed to establish a good base for the episode to start on. and it wasn't too tiresome that you couldn't watch it again.

i think the first one introduced the characters well. too much swearing though, it was just beep beep beep.

i think you focus the humour too much on keith going crazy at the beginning. apart from the frijj bit which was really funny. good word play. there the two funny bits, you need to stretch the comedy out.

- what about the second one?

i really liked the second one. it was funny, it had a good story

i liked it too, and through out all 3 of the episodes the characters managed to stay the same which was good. sometimes in television series the characters change. their nice one time and then they're really horrible but your characters didn't change.

only bad point was when you looked at the camera and when the teachers at the door. but everytime i see that it makes me laugh.

- what about the third one then?

it was too short, i got the idea you were trying to create an element of confusion but it kind of gave it away a bit with the title so maybe something a little bit more criptic could have worked better.

i didn't like the teachers acting. she was smiling too much about the fact that theres been a gas leak.

- who is your favourite character?

i'd have to say sonny, your character. it just made me laugh the way he kept hitting people. it was just one of those things i found hilarious.

little things please little minds

i just really liked your reactions.

i liked keith.

i liked the one who kept trying to escape. pier.

- did you think the acting was good?

i think the acting was good for all the characters

what did you think of vince as a character

it felt as if he was just stuck on there to fill screen time because he kind of just sat there and said something everynow and then

i think hes one of those characters that doesnt really do or say much but hes a part of it. and make the whole thing whole.

- what makes the webseries watchable?

humour, slapstick humour. nonsense. silly.

the comedic stuff. and the way it was random, but good random.

it was just really funny.

Audience Feedback

this is our audience feedback which includes comments a few graphs and information showing our audience who are interested in the show

Focus Group

today we are having a Focus Group about the 3 episodes to see what peopled like what they didn't.

we made a set of question for people to answer

what are your initial thoughts and feelings on the webseries?

what do you think of the characters and their interactions?

do you prefer the 1st, 2nd or 3rd episode? and why is that?

was changing the episode structure for the 2nd and 3rd episodes a good idea? was it better than the 1st episode?

do you think the episode lengths are suitable for a webseries?

what do you think of the fan page? is facebook a suitable place for the fan page?

what do you think could be improved for the next episode if we made one?

what are the good and bad points of each episode?

who is your favourite character?

what makes this webseries watchable?

google

When searching for Detention Deficit on google. It dose come up with our sires but not in an order we would hope for. when searching Detention Deficit the first hit on the results page is the teaser trailer for Episode 2 then had the show vimeo page and then facebook and blogs which include it.
we then felt what we needed to do to make the of detention deficit result in a more practical order for people searching for our show to find the most related page we have.

1st Feb progress

today we filmed episode 3 I was appearing as a guest character in this episode but I still did work with the camera and sound.

the shoot went well as we didn't have alot of time we had to be quick and not waste time. after the shoot we uploaded and started to edit Episode 3 we finished most of the sequence but uploaded a rough cut so people could see the episode but tomorow we are going to touch up the episode and upload it

Monday, 1 February 2010

29th progress report

today we successfully edited and uploaded Episode 2 and we able to make the teaser trailers for Episode 3

this has a been a good week I felt overall as we lerned from our mistakes on Episode 1 and was able to be more organised and got the task done with time to spare.

28th Jan the Second Episode shoot

today we filming the second episode. I had a lot of work to do today as I was the Camera operator sound(boom mic) operator and editor. so I had to shoot the episode then take it to the Mac and Edit a rough copy by the end of the day. but not everything went as smoothly as possible we had to get permission to use a room but many of the room were not free or not free for very long. This wasted valuable time but we final found a room we could use and started to shoot. the shoot its self went very well even though I was doing a lot of things at once I got in to a routen on how to set everything up and be able to do more then one thing at the same time with no complications.
After would I up loaded the footage and racing to meet the days deadline I was able to edit a rough copy of Episode 2 in an hour.

26th Jan

today we made an action plan for the following week and what we needed to make sure we did to make sure we got the second episode up on time.
In my action plan I wrote that we needed to make sure we got in reherseals prier to the shoot and when come to the shoot be able to get the footage on to a laptop and start editing as soon as possible to meet the deadline of Friday.

25 Jan progress Episode 1 feedback

In today lesson we looked about at what worked and what didn't in the production of the 1st Episode and how we can improve to make Episode 2 better. we started looking at were people could improve and what people might of done better. some people felt on fridays lesson as james wasn't present I took control of the group really well and kept everyone in line and on track.

James felt I should be Editor Director and watch over the editing and take more control when being floor manager during the shoot.

We then started to look at our feedback and views we got a mixed feedback

The clock shot is too long and becomes boring (x10)
College's don't normally hold detention in a computer room
At the beginning the sound isn't very good but improves as episode goes on (x3)
The bleeping of the swear words gets annoying Shouldn't really have any swearing - not needed (x12)
Some acting is over acted and unnecessary, however, one actor is enthusiastic

We also got many view but not as much as the Lines group so we knew where we had to improve in getting the episode out to people so they could watch it

the road so far

I started this project not knowing exsactly what I had to do but after watching a few micro sirese I soon knew what we had to do. I then started having group meeting and we started to vote for roles as we were working as one big group. we started things off well started to think of idea and agreeing on our roles in the production of the show. I choose to be an Editor. Shortly after we started to think of the plot of the show we came up with some good idea and some better then others. This is were being in a big group making there own discussion started to show it fleas. Some people weren't happy with discussion and what people where saying. As some people tried to take control of the situation other were left in the dark and weren't given a chance to speak. so this created problem and slowly the group started to break up. we then decided as a group to break up in to two group and make our own show. we both stuck with roughly the same story with a few variasion.

In the smaller group I was asigned as the Editor and Casting Director. as most of our group was acting in it themselves I quickly evaluated them to see if they could pull off the roles they choose. After accepting them as all the male chracters I had to find a Valire which Is the only female chracter in the show. I was fortunat to be able to find a sutible actress quickly so there was no worries in the cast. I also did a little bit in marketing and making sure the shows facebook was up to date and important news was shared on the page.
during filming I was floor manager I made sure everything was going to scedual and that people were not wasting time.
After filmming I had to edit a few actor profile episodes but in result I was left out from my main task as Editor of the episode I didn't mind not editing the 1st episode as I had other task to complete.
When we had to film the extra footage needed for the episode I played a Minor role in the show called Damion. also I did a little bit of camera work.
on lunch day I spent most of the day everything was keeping to sechdual and made sure any footage was moved quickly to were it was needed. I even animated the CRaM production logo who were sposerning our show.

Over all I think the 1st episode has gone well. there was some part we could of done better like try and keep to sechdual and try to work alot harder when set back come up. As I felt this was our down fall we couldn't catch up from proablem that acured during production that slowed us down and thus putting us behind schedual.

22nd Jan review of the day

today was lunch day and James was late coming in so I had to take charge and make sure everything was moving along and no set back acured. despite our best effort we fell behind and didn't make the deadline so a few of our coloeges had to stay behind and make sure our show was up before 7pm this we did achieve.

today was a big lesson to us. It showed us were we had to improve and were not to do thing in production so we don't end up failing to meet the next deadline.

plans for 22nd Jan

in tomorrows lesson I am going to be finishing the 1st episode and tittle sequence for the friday night primer of the pilot episode.

I will make sure everyone is sticking to there task and keeping to the deadline

I will be an Office Linebacker

21 Jan progress report

in today lesson we had a bit of a set back with out filming of the second episode as we were called into an emergence production meeting so we were not able to shot the second episode. but this gave a chance to work on the first episode and tittle sequence. I was then given a Photoshop file of the Creative and Media logo which I then edited to be put in the opening credits of the show.

I had no problem making the the logo animated as Im well knowledge in after effects.

to do list for the 20th Jan

In tomorrows lesson we started editing the 1st episode Hayden and Alex are going to colborate together to edit it.
I am going to make sure all paper work is up to date and pitch an Idea of an extras video to be added whcih is a short montarge of any blopper and the flashback secne as I feel this could add extra popualrity as lots of people love watching blopper and take out montarges.

19 Jan progress report

Today I went to film the remaining footage needed for episode one and the footage needed for the tittle sequence.

after filling out all the required paper work we then went out to film the flashback seen which I played Damon who is Sonnys target in his flashback.

In the scene sonny storms over to me and throws a frijji at me. to make it look at more dematic when the frijji bottle hit me I would fling myself of the bench I was sitting on.
James was censored I could hurt myself doing it but ensured him that I use to judo and I know how to land in a fall and how to bares myself on impact with the ground. We did a few retakes of this scene working with different camera angels to get as much out of the opatunity as possible.

After we completed this scene we went in to the class room we filmed and filmed the camera for the cut away shot with Pier and also the reaction shot were Pier try to escape the room when Kieth has a his fit.

we then moved into a more traditional classroom and started to film the tittle sequence I asked Amy (Valerie) to come and meet. After filming everything we needed we returned to the class to upload

18th Jan review

in today lesson we had a little setback as Hayden turned had not turned up on time with the hard drive with the capture scratch of our episode. In the lesson I was still editing the promo test footage of the actors trying out each character. I had no problem editing it all as james made sure I was on the right track and I was quickly able to upload them to vimeo

Sunday, 17 January 2010

15 jan progess

in today lesson I took a look at out groups paper work and updated everything that need to be filled in before we moved on with anything else. I made sure everyhting from the shoot was documented and updated

I feel as soon as we knew what we were doing we worked very well even though a few of us were egure to start editing the first episode.

after finsihing my updating I looked to how we could imporve our next episode and I relised that we have boom stick and boom mic which we could use to get a much better sound qulity and it will give us expirence of using them but after looking everyhting out I could not find a mic holder that fited the boom stick. so on monday I will inspect the colleridge storide room to see if they have an mic holder that fit the boom mic

review on filmming

after our shoot on trhusday I felt it went really well apart from when James acidently caused Hayden to have a nose bleed. which did breach our risk assesment but thank fully we didn't panic and as I am a qulifiyed first aider. so we where prepared for such and event

unfortunatly we had a few set back as we had a minor dispute with a teacher on who had booked the room. but we persavired and were able to finish filming within our scedual.

Thursday, 14 January 2010

Filmming

we have started filmming our first episode at the moment. All has not gone so well as we have been forced into 3 other room and have had to debate with people to stay in the room we are in at the moment. we have limited time and we are trying to use it to the best of our abilities. a few of our chracters were late showing up but we eventally got all the chracters needed for the berginging of the episode.

few of the actors are still lerning out lines but we seem to bee making good time as we are being pactient with each other and people are remembering there line for each shot.

Target Audience

In making a webseires all have target audiences. like Red Vs Blue target audiences is gamers and Halos Fan.

Our target Audience are students who go to either secondary school, Sixth Form or college basing around the fact that people who have been in detention before and the fact that funny things and events do happen in detention even though some people think differently.

our audience is between the age of 15-18 people who use facebook and use the internet frequently.

13th Jan Plan

in today session we have a lot to do I'm helping out with james edit the first audition and then decide who would be the best for each character.

Me and jame first need to upload the footage and then we need to start to edit out all the pauses and all the band footage. then after cut all the best bits up I will look over the character and write up the final line up.

later on today me and Philippa are going to go meet the potential Valerie and see if she is best for the part.

Marketing achivments

Microsires all have to use marketing to get there sireses noticed on the internet that why many microseries use diffrent websites to get there show ditributed over the internet.

alot of sireis use large networking sites to get fan to follow there work like facebook and myspace. others use youtube to make it easier for people to find there work. As today audience are very impatiante. So if someone can't find what they are looking for strate away most people will give up and find something more intresting.

some of the top microsires like 'Red vs Blue' can esaly be found on youtube and now is all over the xbox live app 'Halo Waypoint' were you can watch red vs blue episode. after watching a few of the red vs blue episodes http://www.youtube.com/user/roosterteeth?blend=1&ob=4#p/u/4/Vfy08JSPjhU this is the rooster teeth youtube page as you can see its based alot around the red vs blue sieries apart from youtube rooster teeth has it own website which includes other siries and cartoon that rooster teeth have created in the past and present.
http://roosterteeth.com/home.php this is the main rooster teeth website.

With red vs blue popularity they are now sponsered by bungie and have made special episodes to premote the new halo games. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LMzhZV1qsU

12th Jan progress report

in todays lesson I started to look at how to pre-production can help benefit and boot interest before the post-production so we desided to add some more hipe on the facebook and twiter pages aswell as a make a promo video for our site so we have soemthing to show as some of the best show always have promos.

my new role

as we have broken up into smaller group there a less people to do more jobs. This is very efficent way to work as there not many people to talk to about diffrent things but if one person has to much to do people aren't going to be able to talk to the others.

I wanted to stay as editor and that I will be in close conection with the writers and the cinematography. I am also on the graphic/marketing team.

but as most of the cast is already covered as the 4 other guy would play as the 4 male regulars, but I took it on myslef to go find a valery so tecnical I became the casting director aswell.

Live Music

This is Pendulum performing Blood Sugar live at Brixton Academy in London. With performing Live making the Atmosphere that your audeience can have a good time is key also talking to them and making them move to the music. This is soemthing that few band can get audencies to do but Pendulum have the advantage as the audience is here to listen to there music and as its Drum 'n' Bass you got tomove to the music.

prroduction meeting 3 and 4

in the 3rd production meeting I started to look at the graphic of the show after much discussion and looking at different ideas we got Matt H to deign a graffiti style after discussing with everyone.
we work much better when we broke up into smaller groups and were concerned about different things.

in the 4th production meet there was a few changes had been made. we now working in 2 smaller group and make to show based on our idea this has brought in some compatition which I feel could incurage us to work harder I feel this will be a benafit us as a group as we are working in a smaller group. aswell as working very good together.

media develpment

In the media world there are alot of ways people can show there work to people. Over time the way we see media has changed. The first kinds of meida was story telling. story telling people had to be there to hear the person tell the story and sometime they would have to act it out to explain to people this developed in to theater which now a days is still a thing people see live. there are variasion aswell of theater like dance which people go to see live aswell as Opera and live Gigs which is all based an audiences presence. if there was no audiece then band or play would be performing to no one and how would any one hear them. Another place you can see dance and theater is in street performance which need a physical audience to witness and hear them as they are in public places these street performances include dance, short play or busking and the perforamer uses the audience to get more attention as if someone people stop to watch or listen other peoples attention will be drawn to it and more and more people will stop making a large audience . Art is another old media which at first required an audience to come and observe the work as art came in scupltues and painting very formal art but over the years has developed. now art is every were people go it come in all shapes and sizes graffiti is the most common art to see in everyday life now and with the internet people can see art when ever they choose. aslo art is caputed in photos which now are dispayed in there own gallerys and on the internet. another way of poeple seeing art is in comic books. this tells storys but based around pcitures drawn by artist. comic book are a physical objsct that you ahve to go out and purches like buying a music album but you can't download them on a computer you have to buy the phsical item.

Cinema and film have always had an audience present as that what cinemas are a place where people can come to watch a film. to a smaller scale is Television which has a large audience but it spread across in smaller groups of 1-4 maybe more people sitting and watching through a Televison this is the same with watch DVD's Video and even playing video game people have to be there infront of it to witness it and play it. This then bring us to computer were one or a few people sit and you can watch and listen to nearly any kind of meida there has been. it may be live footage but you are wathcing it infront of a screen and not atchally there witnessing it. like if a person goes to see a footabll match they are there in the crowd witnessing the match first had unlike someone who watches it at home they may here the crowd and there reaction but the fact is clear they are not there.

A practitioner who has developed over time in how they show there work is Jamie Hewlett who is a British comic artist of the cult classic Tank Girl as well as being the co founder of the virtual band Gorillaz.
Jamie teamed up with Damon Alburn to create Gorillaz. The first ever virtual band to be created this is one of the biggest steps in animation crossing with music. Jamie had moved on from conventional comic’s book artist to make a big leap to music and creating a virtual band. Jamie moved on the animation for the music video of the band but still did a lot of art work portraying the band in still images. He did the illustrations of the Gorillaz Biography Rise of the Ogre. But I think one of the biggest things Jamie Hewlett has done to adapt his skills is how he converted Gorillaz to a new 3D animation technology where he was able to do live show with is fictional band.

Another large and new influence that has changed media is crossing genres to make sub-genres in music. With and band in today’s world will not come under one particular genes as coming under one gene is old news and people want something new. A prime example of something new in music is Enter Shikari. They made a unique sound by mixing metalcore a sub-genre of metal and trance/electro. This unique style has given them a very large fan base as there music appeals to many different people. As they use synthesisers giving it an electro trance feel mixed with heavy distorted guitar double kick peddles for the drum and growling/scream mixed with clean vocals. This is show how music is starting to evolve together and that people can like music from both side of the spectrum. Most musicians from any gene all appreciate genres that are different from them even though it might not be there thing. A lot of band start to mix with other band to try make better sounds like Linkin park did a collaborate album with Jay-Z even though Linkin park has rapping in it by mixing Jay-z song with there own made a completely new sound.

Media today is continuing to evolve. It took the human race million of years to get were we are today. But with today media has evolve vastly over the last few decades. Even in one year you can list a lot that has changed in the media industry. Film making use to only be done by large film companies as they had the money to be able to distribute it all over the world. But in the last 2 decades that has changed since people have been able to buy video camera people have made there own movies. But never usually had the money to be able to show it to the world. This all changed when digital video cameras come along and the internet allowed people to upload there video. People have been able to share there movies all over the world. This has resulted in large fan bases on the internet and more and more people have been able to show there works on the internet as many more sites are being made specifically for different types of Medias. You get web sites like youtube and vimeo were people can upload there own home made film or short film and people are able to watch with ease and people are able to express there feeling about it to the world as well. There is also websites for artist to show there art work like Divientart and Flicker were artist and photographer are able to show there work to the world and many artist today have become famous because of the internet. On large internet artist is Jeff Thomas also known as Azuzephre who created Pon and Zi and cult cartoon following which is very popular in the “emo art”.

Many other media cults have formed over medias that are on the internet. There are many micro sires on the internet using a wide range of styles machinima (using game/computer animated software to make movies) which has become a popular thing over the internet like Red vs Blue which uses the Halo games

The internet is one of the biggest reason that media as developed so far and its still growing so much is becoming redundant because you can find it on the internet twice as fast and easier. Soon all art form will be broadcast through the internet and film making will all be dependent on making it big on the internet. So will the old ways of media like art galleries and film festivals survive the digital age?

My Role

in the show project I have been Asigned the role of Editor.
In my role I am incharge of making sure all the computers have enough memoery and the right setting and software to edit. also that all the cameras are set correctly so I have no problem capturing the footage later with no problems. Also need a notepad so I can note all the changes and improvments needed so I don't forget them while editing. Also need to help with the storybored so I can convert it to a animatic to help the camera men and the directors show there visual ideas.

second meeting summary

in todays meeting we made alot of ground.
we sorted most of the marketing plans and started on the story and script of the first episode. we also started drawing up ideas for the tittle sequence after a long prosses of desiding on a name for the show. There was some conflicts in today meeting after what had happen during the last one. But we cleared everything up by the end of it. I encoureded people to say what they felt about the matter instead of not saying anything and not being happy about the dissisions afterwards.

As editor I went to help out with story planning. after some times we found out that not everyone was happy with the ideas and then it started to get more tence as people started to complain to each other. I felt like I couldn't take either side as both were in the right in some points aswell as being in the wrong.

Stand Up

Here is Dara O'Briain Live at the Apollo. Standup is very diffrent and very hard compared to live music and some theater. As comedy is very hard to do and comedians are by themself on stage. stand up is funniest when comedians talk about everyday thing but find or make it funny as it make people laugh more as it something they think they know very well but someone has just told you something about it which is halarious. In this case Dara O'Briain talk about mixed wedding between a chatholic and prodistant family which in Ireland chatholic and prodistants which now is a funny subject when a Irishman talk about it.

show meeting 1

in the first meeting of the show project we got through some key subject that we needed to decide on before we ccould more on anymore. while aming a dissision on what the story of a show was going to be we needed to pick a chairmen to help organise and make the meetings run smoothly. after desiding on how to vote we ended up voting for Alex and Tim as they both haven't had much chance of leadership and I flet it would be a good opatunaty. I felt this was a good idea as if people are away due to illness theres a likely chance at least one of them will be in and they both seem to be orginised people and we do listen to them.

After think of many ideas so more farfetch then others we voted on the idea of a detetion room with a few regulars who get up to random stuff while in detention and in each episode new people come in and the regualrs interaget and find out why the random person is in detantion

we draged on alot with consepts and ideas for the show and people started to get very ahead of themsleves and alot of people didn't get a say in the matter. we then got on the the subject of roles of waht people will be doing during the making of the microsire

after finally making these disisions after alot of shouting try to get the best roles leavcing the less confident got the not so good roles. I saw this happering as a few of my calss mates do start to get into idea to much that they feel that only they can do it correct as it there vision. I myslef did shout out a few times and cut people off but it was in result in I had to or I wouldn't of been heard by the chairmen.

our story is very similar to the idea of the breakfast club but been broken up in to samller chunks and based around normal lunchtime detentions.

intro to show project

in todays lesson we looked at the breif of the project and what we had to do. As we have to create a Microsires for the internet we looked at a few well know Microsires to get an insight and what kind of things we will need to do to create a sucsseful microsires.

We first looked at Chad Vader a microsires about darth vadars younger brother who is a day shift manager at a local supermarket. The episode we watch was good it had alot of refrences to the star wars film as chad is pritty much a softer version of darth vadar who trys to be a tough boss but is pushed around by his colueges. alot of chracters that can be developed over time the show promotes itself by showing the cast on myspace and using diffrent websites to show the videos like youtube or special forooms. the second microsires we looked at is the guild which is about a girl named cyde but also goes by the name of Codex on a lardge roleplaying game in the episode we watch cyde was trying to get ahold of one of her old guild members who had left and joined another guild the idea is very simple and can relates to alot of people who play games like World of Warcreaft and Runscape. cinimatography whie the camera is very static usally played head on to cyde like were a webcame would be of the computer screen. but they alos very some shot in diffrent parts just to atablish location shots of things that are happering. its promotes it self on its own website and it has a large enough fan base it has reliesed its own dvd and murchendise.

we then watched a micro sireies called we need girlfriends which is about 3 guys who have resently all lost there long time relationship after all moving in to a new apartment they all desiced they need to get out in the world and find new girl freinds the idea is strong and some of the chracters and ideas are very funny camera work is very basic like any otehr TV series. this is promoted on its own website and youtube.

the alst siers we watch was my personal favorite out of the four and that was Living with the Infidels which is a 5 part micro sires about 5 wannaby terrorists. this is very funny as it this sires caused alot of up roars and complaints and as people be human what people complain about other people want to see what the fuss is about and people enjoyed it and it became famous from there.

with this the camera technices are very simple yet make it work very well there long shots close up and astablishing shot this all is standered stuff but works well nothing to fancy and in result a well shot and tightly editied episode.

Red vs Blue is one of the biggest Machinnimas that is a common micosires tool used on the internet this sires uses alot of angles and is a great use of modding a game even though can not see them speak the movment the chracters make it look like there talking. the story is simple and very funny and the chracters are classic.
